We strive to ensure that our approaches are replicable and scalable.

Driven by the need to foster systemic change, we focus on the structural causes of the issues we address.

By working in context, generating knowledge and experience with local stakeholders, researching, and systematizing learnings, we develop diverse strategies that enhance the effectiveness and reach of our projects.

We practice strategic philanthropy:

We make long-term commitments with a systemic perspective

We support complex processes with a comprehensive outlook, understanding that sustainable change requires time, shared knowledge, and interconnected approaches.

We are strategic partners

We contribute not only financial and human resources, but also experience, technical support, and networks — with a high level of commitment and a focus on measurable results.

We take on the role that needs to be taken

We adapt to the context and needs of each process, assuming different roles in the development, implementation, and/or scaling of initiatives.

We take risks

We act as catalysts so that transformative ideas can be tested, developed, and consolidated.

We leverage resources to maximize impact

We seek to expand the reach of our own resources and those of actors with the capacity to influence and promote scale.

We believe in knowledge as a tool for transformation

We generate, apply, and share evidence to make better decisions, strengthen projects, and inform strategic action.

We always work with others

We build relationships with public, private, and civil society actors through partnerships and collaborative processes.

From a challenge

We identify the challenge to address, to develop and define our change hypothesis and work strategy.
We map possible allies with experience in the topic to which the selected challenge is related.
We define the components of the solution: its scope, target population, duration, theory of change and intervention models.
We generate evidence that verifies the change hypothesis and provides an account of the effectiveness, sustainability and systematicity of the implemented solution.
We organize information to generate opportunities to improve our own solutions, as well as new and emerging challenges.
We identify the degree of success of each implemented solution to define whether it is strategic to promote its replicability or it is necessary to rethink the intervention strategy.

Selecting a challenge and making a diagnosis

We identify the issues and challenges to deal with, by ourselves or in collaboration with potential allies and partners. We make a diagnosis using a systemic and multidimensional approach, taking into account different information sources and the perspective of the people, communities or groups involved.

This stage is the basis for defining the challenge, elaborating our change scenario and developing our working strategy.

Creating partnerships

We trace possible partners experienced in the field related to the selected challenge. After that, we analyze the potential of the initiative, as well as the compatibility and complementarity of the intervention methodologies to define whether the partnership is feasible.

The specific information and knowledge from these partnerships nourish our initial diagnosis and foster the co-creation of innovative solutions.

Developing solutions

After a study of experiences, ideas, intervention models and solutions at local and international level to address the challenge, we select the ones that have proved to be more effective. We take into account their transformation capacity, scope, incidence, replicability and resources invested, and that allow us to test the change hypothesis.

We use a repetitive and incremental process in collaboration with our partner organizations to co-design solutions which let us address the challenge in a comprehensive, innovative, efficient and sustainable way. We always consider the perspective and the potential of scalability.

In this stage the elements of the solution are defined: its scope, target population, length, theory of change and intervention models. Also, we define the required investment, the work plan, monitoring and evaluation systems, and communication and systematization strategies.

Testing solutions

We implement the solutions on site, together with our partner organizations, in order to test the co-designed solutions. The goal is to collect evidence that validates the change hypothesis and accounts for the effectiveness, sustainability and consistency of the implemented solution.

Evaluating and systematizing

The evaluation of the processes, results and impact of the implementation allows us to identify the changes or transformations that can be attributed to the result of our intervention, considering the diagnosis, the goals set and the actions carried out to achieve them.

The evaluation and systematization are fundamental to define if the implemented solutions can be scaled or replicated, or if they must be reshaped. In this way, we organize information and learning, to generate opportunities to improve our own solutions, as well as for new emerging challenges.

Rethinking solutions or promoting scalability

Based on the evaluation and systematization, we identify the degree of success of each implemented solution to define whether if it is strategic to promote its replicability or if it is necessary to rethink the intervention strategy.

If the solutions are successful, we work to generate new partnerships and articulate with stakeholders from the public, private and/or civil society sectors, with the capacity to multiply the scope of the intervention and scale initiatives in the public sphere.

If the solutions did not achieve the expected results, we share the learning and work on them again, to introduce the identified improvement opportunities, and retest their feasibility and success in the field.
