Programme:

Transition for Regenerative Development

Objective:

Fundación Alimentaris and Fundación 500RPM have partnered on an integrated initiative that combines sustainable horticultural production, improved water access, and environmental education in Chubut, a region facing the decline of traditional livestock farming, limited access to the electricity grid, and increasing water scarcity driven by climate change.

The project is built around three complementary areas of work:

Agroecological production transition, supported by the technical expertise of INTA.
Wind- and solar-powered water pumping and irrigation systems, enabling reliable, low-cost water access for food production.
Energy and food education workshops, designed for rural communities and schools.

Through this partnership, Fundación Alimentaris and Fundación 500RPM support **six productive units—including rural families, rural schools, and technical schools—**demonstrating that Patagonia’s steppe can sustainably produce food by harnessing the power of renewable energy.
